Preach the Word

Over the past few weeks, we’ve journeyed through 2 Timothy 3–4, learning what it means to stand firm in a world that drifts from truth. We’ve been warned to watch out for wolves (3:1–9) and reminded to know the voice of God. Then we saw that all Scripture is God-breathed and profitable — shaping our hearts and equipping us for every good work. This Sunday, we move from preparation to execution. In 2 Timothy 4:1–5, Paul charges Timothy to preach the Word, be sober-minded, endure suffering, and do the work of an evangelist. But this isn’t just for pastors — it’s for every believer who longs to see the lost reconciled to God.

If Jesus was moved with compassion for the crowds, shouldn’t we be too? God’s desire is that all would be saved. The question is — do our hearts ache for what breaks His?
